Key observations:
✅ Nordic countries continue to dominate sustainable development performance, occupying 4 of the top 5 positions.
✅ The EU average SDG score stands at 72.4, with Northern Europe significantly ahead at 79.7.
✅ Despite their strong overall performance, no European country has achieved all SDGs. Every country still faces at least two major sustainability challenges.
⚠️ The biggest challenges across Europe remain:
• Sustainable agriculture (SDG 2)
• Responsible consumption and production (SDG 12)
• Climate action (SDG 13)

More than 40% of the European Union's greenhouse-gas emissions are generated outside Europe through global supply chains. This means that decarbonization cannot be achieved through domestic policies alone, it requires cleaner international value chains as well.
